EPD at Eureka High basketball game, Feb 17

Police reports admit that Eureka police officer Silvey tazed a woman and pulled a gun on the crowd at the Eureka High basketball game on Feb 17th.

Were you there?  We'd like to know your version of what happened.

CopWatch wants to help record your story of what happened.  We want to document the truth about police encounters and hold police accountable for their actions in our community.

Safety of witnesses is critical, so information is only made public if it is appropriate and with permission from witnesses.  When information is kept safe and anonymous, it helps in developing a credible alternative to the subjective perspective of the police department.

Please contact CopWatch if you witnessed anything that happened at EHS on Feb 17th and explain what happened.

After any police encounter it is imperative to have the words and accounts of people who were involved in or witnessed. Otherwise, the information that is made public comes only from the police department spokesperson who cannot represent the entirety of the truth. They have a vested interest in justifying all police actions.

We welcome any and all other accounts of police abuse and brutality from anywhere in the north coast area.  Documenting your experience can be critical in seeking justice, preventing further police violence, and holding police accountable for their behavior.

HIS NAME IS CHRIS SILVEY, NOT JOHN. HE WAS IN THE ARMY AND IS HAVING MAJOR MENTAL PROBLEMS NOW.

what does that mean? Is he being treated? Still on the beat? Just curious if he is getting help.

He is not on beat and is going to college of the redwoods for political science. Seems like a descent dude. Says he didnt agree with alot of the stuff that went on at epd.  Dont  know about the mental problems but I do know he was in the armed services.
