ban tasers

March 22: NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION - Called by Dallas Communities Organizing Against Police Terrorism

GOALS FOR THE PEOPLE

These goals should be implemented in short/long terms. Places that already have this or something similar, we ask that you support those of us that do not:

  1. Know Your Rights Classes specific to your state. I.E. California vs. Texas Gun Laws

  2. Local community based patrols. Make the police “services” obsolete in your community

  3. Documentation of police activity that can later be used as evidence.

  4. Community Review Boards- Establish or implement them with subpoena power with the ability to prosecute.

  5. Tribunal del pueblo- The people’s court where the true peers and equals of the people assaulted can express, and try the offender.

"Hundreds of People Took to the Streets Demanding Justice..."

Justice for Robert Mitchell

Hundreds of people took to the streets on May 21 demanding justice for Robert Mitchell, 16, who died after being tased by Warren police. Mitchell, who had fled from a police stop in Warren, was chased into Detroit, where he was apprehended, tased and later died on April 10.

WEAPONS (2007)

Assault rifles and semi-automatic weapons are being supplied by a large corporation (Target) and the DA. TAZERS Tazers give off a 50,000 volt blast. EPD is expecting to have a new batch of tazers soon. The body count in North America now stands at 287 after having been tasered with this "less than lethal" device. 15 Canadians and 272 Americans since 2001, 9 dead in August of this year alone. Tazers in Humboldt have been used, for instance, on a person sneaking into a concert at the Eureka Muni and people following police orders (to walk away) in Arcata.
