PROTEST THE DETROIT POLICE KILLING OF 7 year old AIYANA JONES
SEVEN YEAR OLD KILLED IN DETROIT POLICE OPERATION @ 12:35 am, 16 May 2010
Young Aiyana Jones was killed by Detroit police in a raid this morning at 12:35am. The young girl was shot to death while lying in her bed. The more than twenty police officers stormed the home by first tossing an incendiary device through the window. They then kicked in the doors and shot Aiyana Jones in the head.
This act of police terror warrants a political response by the people of the city of Detroit. The Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality is demanding justice for the death of Ayana. The police officers involved should be immediately terminated and prosecuted for the crimes they have committed against the Jones family.
This killing of Ayana comes amid an escalation of violence against people in Detroit and around the country from law-enforcement agencies. In Detroit, where unemployment and poverty is the highest in the country, the political and economic elites have nothing to offer the people accept increased repression and impoverishment.
Please come out to these events today. Only the people organized and mobilized can defeat police brutality and the forces behind this intensifying terror launched against the people.
